7 months later......

I still don't really know what to say. 24 hours ago I watched the season end for the Heels, but it wasn't the Heels I've watched all season. They looked lost out there, like a bunch of kids trying to figure out how to play the game. I screamed my head off during their comeback, and thought I would be hoarse for another day or two. But then the comeback ended, and so too did one of the best seasons any Tar Heel squad has ever played. And, like so many others, it has ended in disappointment. In frustration. This was THE team. An 18-game winning streak followed by a 13-game winning streak. Kansas hadn't played that well all year, until last night. North Carolina hadn't played that badly, until last night. It just wasn't our night. If only Stephen Curry had stepped to his right quickly enough, he could have taken the shot, and it would have been Davidson instead of Kansas. Maybe, just maybe then, we'd be celebrating. Instead, I have to wait 7 months before I can enjoy a win again. God baseball is boring. I hate the NBA. The Hurricanes aren't going to make the playoffs. Golf puts me to sleep. Tennis isn't on often enough to get into. I wonder how Butch Davis is doing.... Maybe the Heels football squad will be better this year. Heck, maybe they'll even make a bowl game. Oh, wait. I live in Chicago. They don't show UNC football here. They don't show Panthers games either. I'm doomed to another boring summer followed by watching Northwestern choke (to d00k) and Rex Grossman drop footballs. They need to legalize cloning so the Bears can have an offense full of Devin Hesters and a defense full of Brian Urlackers. Now that would be interesting.

So now I sit here and realize that I have no good sports to watch for seven long months. Which reminds me, I need to cancel my subscription to EVERY sports channel known to man.
